GWCHE Board of Directors POLICY Topic: Website Links Date approved by Board of Directors: September 27, 2005 Policy: GWCHE will provide a website link for a homeschool-related company who meets one of the following requirements: 1. The company has purchased 2 months of advertising in our newsletter. 2. The company has purchased 1 ad in our yearbook. 3. The company has purchased 1 ad in our directory. 4. The company is a GWCHE affiliate. 5. The company offers discounts or services specifically for GWCHE members. 6. The company pays $50 to link to the GWCHE website. A homeschool-related company is a company who provides products or services that help the role of the home educating parent. Clay and Sally Clarkson, On page 3 of Educating the WholeHearted Child, state that the role of a home educating parent is “to provide a rich and lively living and learning environment in which your children can exercise their God-given drive to learn, and then to train and instruct your children within the natural context of your home and family life.” This definition will be used by the Treasurer to determine if the company is homeschool-related. If a company wants to be included, but doesn’t meet the above definition by the Treasurer, then the Board will vote on whether or not to include them on the GWCHE website. Once the company has met one of these requirements, the Treasurer will send out a letter (see attached) inviting the company to provide a link and brief synopsis that will be posted on the GWCHE website under “Local and On-line Resources”. The link will remain on the GWCHE website until August 31 of the current fiscal year. At that time, the company will need to meet one of the above requirements for the new fiscal year in order to remain listed on the website.
