What We Offer

The following activities and events, as well as others, are offered each year or have been offered in the past dependent on members volunteering to lead.

Field Trips
Occurring throughout the school year, GWCHE-organized field trips are a gem — a true can’t-miss for so many of our GWCHE families.  Our Field Trip team organizes many, but they’ve set up a great system so you can organize your own for the group.  Field Trips are a great opportunity to walk and learn alongside other GWCHE families.

Resource Fair
Held in August at the first GWCHE General Meeting, the Resource Fair features repsesentatives from local organizations offering classes, resources or other benefits to the homeschool community.

History Fair
Usually held at the November GWCHE General Meeting, the GWCHE History Fair welcomes projects of all shapes and sizes from all grades (PreK-12).  Students in grades 5-9 may be interested in participating in the Regional History Fair held at Baylor University in February after our fair.

Science Fair
Held in January, the Science Fair is a great way for your child to develop scientific abilities. Students in grades 6+ may be interested in participating in the Central Texas Science & Engineering Fair with their work from our fair.

Used Curriculum Sale
This is a great opportunity to clear out materials you no longer need and find great savings on the home school materials you’ve been looking for.

Graduation
Graduating as a group is an optional opportunity for GWCHE seniors.

Spring Field Day
This event for GWCHE children grades K-12 offers both competitive and non-competive activities.

Spelling Bee
A non-elimination spelling bee held in the spring for students K-10. Small prizes to all participants and trophies to winners in each grade.

Back to School Splash Bash
Held in August, Spalsh Bash is a fun kick off to the school year! We reserve the entire Robinson Pool on a special evening just for us – fun for the whole family!

Arts Festival
A celebration of student artistic achievements featuring art, music, and recitations.

End of Year Picnic Celebration
A celebration of a completed school year with friends!

Park Day
Let the kids play and the moms visit. Park location to be determined each month.

Valentine’s Party
A favorite annual tradition.

Missionary Membership
A gift to homeschooling missionary families while on furlough in the Waco area
